The Monday Morning Blues are here once again but today is not your typical Monday. No today is MLB Trade Deadline Monday as all 30 clubs around the league have a chance to make the big time moves to either help them make a run at the playoffs while the others try to position themselves up for the future. Add in another night of exciting MLB games taking to the diamond and we all have a chance to cash in on some FanDuel action.
Now before we start to look at who we like for Monday August 1st, 2016 we do suggest monitoring the waiver board throughout the day as well as the starting lineups as they come out as players who might have been included in our lineups may not be available if they are moved.
The obvious option for everyone on Monday Night on the mound is Stephen Strasburg as he takes the hill against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Washington Nationals ace is 14-1 on the year while supporting just a 2.68 earned run average. For us though we like him more for fantasy owners looking to play in head to head or 50/50 contests.
We like C.C. Sabathia on Monday Night as he looks to continue his career success against the New York Mets. Sabathia has held this group of Mets to just a .216 earned run average in 116 career at bats. That includes Yoenis Cespedes who is just two for 14 with five career strikeouts. Along with those numbers the Yankees starter is coming off a solid outing against the Houston Astros.
Here is our FanDuel Lineup Info for Monday August 1st, 2016
FanDuel Hitters We Like On Monday August 1st, 2016
Edwin Encarnacion, Toronto Blue Jays: The Blue Jays first baseman is the top option among first baseman on Monday Night making him an easy option. Its easy to understand as Encarnacion has hit four home runs over his last 19 at bats at Minute Maid Park.
Anthony Rendon, Washington Nationals: We like the Nationals lineup tonight as they take on the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field. Chase Field ranks 4th in runs, 4th in home runs, 7th in hits and 2nd in triples according to ESPN MLB Park Factors. Along with that Rendon has been hot turning in double digit fantasy performances in fours straight games.
FanDuel Pitchers We Like On Monday August 1st, 2016
Chris Archer, Tampa Bay Rays: While all the money will be riding on Strasburg we don’t like his matchup pitching at a hitter friendly ball park. Archer on the other hand has turned in back to back solid fantasy outings and will be going up against a Kansas City Royals team that has lost eight of their last ten games while scoring three or fewer runs in seven of those contests.
FanDuel Sleepers We Like On Monday August 1st, 2016
C.C. Sabathia, New York Yankees: We like both Sabathia and the starter he will be facing off against Logan Verrett as cheaper options on Monday Night. Sabathia has been stellar against this group of Mets in his career is the driving force behind building our FanDuel lineups around him.
The Stack List for August 1st, 2016
Bryce Harper/Anthony Rendon/Ryan Zimmerman: We like the fantasy potential of the Nationals on Monday Night while hitting at Chase Field. Of the group Rendon might be the hottest of the bunch but stacking the three together sould be a safe call.
Tyler Naquin/Lonnie Chisenhall/Jason Kipnis: While we love the Nationals based on the ballpark they are playing for we love the Cleveland Indians lineup based on their matchup with Jose Berrios. Entering Monday, Berrios had made four starts on the season allowing a combined 17 earned runs in that stretch to go with five home runs in just 15 innings of work.
