The 2016-17 NBA Season approaches the final few weeks as the Daily Fantasy Basketball action continues to heat up. That action fantasy action continues tonight with a solid six game NBA Slate taking to the hardwood that features some big time fantasy options.

Meanwhile Jackson is one of those options under the $5k mark but has an upside in tournament plays. We also are leaning towards Yogi Ferrell in this matchup but both J.J. Barea and Devin Harris have an upside in this contest as well.

For us Ginboli if active provides a consistent 17-20 fantasy points a night but his value as well as Danny Green’s fantasy value rises tonight against a Cavaliers team that ranks 1^st in the NBA in fantasy points allowed to the position. At the second slot we like Curry tonight for the Mavericks in a contest where the team will need someone to step up to stay in the game against a Thunder team that can score at will.

This opened up the door for us to lean on Leonard who is nearly $2k cheaper than James but has the same upside as James. Meanwhile Ross has been playing solid of late postin over 24 fantasy points in four straight games leading in to tonight’s matchup against the Toronto Raptors.

While we strongly recommend Porzingis play status we love him against the Pistons while Ibaka will look to dominate his former Magic team that ranks second among teams in play tonight in slowing down opposing power forwards.

In his last meeting with the Knicks, Drummond posted 24 points to go with 14 rebounds while finishing with 48 fantasy points.

Meanwhile Smith is coming off a solid 38 point fantasy effort and should be able to take advantage of a Bulls team that is not only coming off a back to back but also has trouble stopping other point guards.

The big question mark on this play rides on the Greek Freak and whether or not he can get us to at least 40 fantasy points. That being said we expect to see his usage lower in tournament action opening up a chance for him to put up a 50 plus fantasy performance against a Sacramento Kings team that ranks near the bottom of the NBA against opposing shooting guards. Meanwhile offsetting some of that cost led us to look at both Jeremy Lamb as well as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. In the end we like Lamb’s upside over the more consistent Caldwell-Pope. If you look to go more expensive at center or power forward we also like both Will Barton and Nicolas Batum.

In the end we just couldn’t look past this combination at the small forward position as both have solid fantasy matchups and both have big fantasy upsides. Butler is coming off a big time fantasy performance on Tuesday Night as he looks to take advantage of a Pistons team he has averaged 26 points against to go with six rebounds and nearly five assists against in three games this season. Hayward on the other hand gets a matchup against a New York Knicks team that is just bad on both sides of the floor. In one meeting this season Hayward managed to score 28 points while posting five rebounds.

Young is riding back to back 22 plus fantasy performances as he enters a matchup against a Boston Celtics team that should provide an increase in fantasy opportunities based on there pace of play. Meanwhile Ilyasova has seen over 30 minutes in back to back games something that GPP owners love to see from there fantasy options.

For us our top two options we like tonight are Adams as well as Rudy Gobert while someone like Andre Drummond could be another solid option. In the end we valued the cash up above leaning to Adams who has the second best fantasy matchup of the night at the center position just behind Gobert. Another deep sleeper fantasy option that could play a key role tonight is Joffrey Lauvergne against the Pistons if Robin Lopez (fight) and Cristiano Felicio (injury) miss tonights action.

Meanwhile Barea as well as his teammate Yogi Ferrell are both solid options that cost under the $5k mark. Add that with the fact that they will be facing off against a Golden State Warriors team that can move that plays up tempo should open up additional scoring opportunities. While we like a few of the more expensive plays we really like the lower tier options on a night where we could use the extra cash at other positions.

It’s an interesting night at the shooting guard position as we all sit back to see if Giannis Antetokounmpo will suit up for the Milwaukee Bucks after hurting his ankle late in the teams last contest. That being said Thompson is a solid play posting over 40 fantasy points in two of his last three games. Meanwhile KCP is one of those fantasy options that you should be a low usage guy based on his hot/cold streaks but his matchup against a horrible Brooklyn Nets team could reward us with a big time performance.

Spending in the low to mid range at the other positions opened up the door for us to go heavy at the small forward position with two of the top fantasy options. For us Leonard is a must play option against a Minnesota Timberwolves team he scorched for 66 fantasy points to open up March. Butler on the other hand turned in at least 45 fantasy points in three of his last four games. In his last meeting with the Toronto Raptors, Butler finished the game with 19 points and 12 rebounds while rewarding his fantasy owners with a 45.4 fantasy performance on FanDuel. If you look to spend down you could consider Marcus Morris for the Detroit Pistons.

In the end we felt that the combination of Johnson and Dieng was strong enough and had the potential to post over 70 fantasy points. Johnson should see added chances on the glass against a fast pace Phoenix Suns team while Dieng has had some success against the Spurs this averaging over 15 points a game to go with nearly nine rebounds in three previous meetings.

Tonight’s eight game slate is an interesting one that features some star caliber fantasy options including James Harden, Anthony Davis and Giannis Antetokoumpo. Along with the individual matchups we also see a few games that have the potential to be a high scoring affair with both teams scoring a ton of points.

The game we are looking to as one of those games that could produce a ton of fantasy points will feature the Milwaukee Bucks taking on the Los Angeles Lakers. Neither of these teams have been good on defense this season opening the door for the Greak Freek to put together a big time fantasy performance. In a previous meeting back on February 10^th, Antetokoumpo scored 41 points in route to a 64.6 fantasy night against the same Lakers team.

On paper these two point guards both have chances to top the 35/40 point fantasy mark tonight based on there matchups. For Payton he will look to capitalize against a Phoenix Suns team that ranks first in fantasy points allowed to opposing point guards. Meanwhile Clarkson should continue to get minutes at both the point guard and shootin guard position helping his raise his fantasy stock on a nightly basis. With that said one name that will become a very popular play for us is Brandon Jennings if he gets the start due to John Wall missing the game tonight.

Ingram has seen over 35 minutes in four of his last five games while posting over 24 fantasy points in four straight games.

For us Mirotic was a tough decision based on missing time but he has the third best fantasy matchup of the night against a team that likes to move the ball up and down the floor. Harris on the other side is a higher risk type of star but with a potential to post over 50 points helps his stock status.

In the end we valued the opportunity to build around our top two shooting guards over the idea of going with DeMarcus Cousins. Williams is in a faster paced matchup against a team that has had there hand full with the big men for the teams that are. Williams has topped the 22 point fantasy mark in eight straight games including five of those games he averaged over 33 fantasy points. Meanwhile Cousins could be one of those options that could reward us with 65 to 75 points tonight.

We also like the idea of going with Jeremy Lin who has a very favorable matchup against a very bad Brooklyn Nets squad.

One name we really like tonight is Kemba Walker for the Charlotte Hornets against a Chicago Bulls team that has had there hands full with point guards this season. For Walker he enters this game posting at least 40 fantasy points in six of his last seven games while providing both the reliability factor for cash games while providing a cheaper cost to someone like John Wall who cost much more while providing very similar numbers.

Meanwhile dropping to the bargain barrel on FanDuel tonight an option that looks good on paper is Brandon Ingram. The Los Angeles Lakers small forward has seen over 30 minutes in seven of the team’s last eight games while posting at least 22 fantasy points in four straight games. That product might look low but taking he cost only $4k it makes it look great on paper.

This is a nice pair of options at the point guard position while still providing salary cap flexilibity for the other positions. If both return Walker should see a increase in assists, but if both miss tonight he will be called on to carry the load. Meanwhile Clarkson should be able to take advantage of a Denver Nuggets team that ranks in the bottom sixth in defense against both the point guard and shooting guard position.

Meanwhile we are going to keep a close eye on Hardaway to see if he gets the start tonight. If he returns to the bench we suggest shying away from him turning to another option.

If this happens we love Leonard tonight against an Atlanta Hawks team that ranks first among teams in action tonight in fantasy points allowed to the position. If Leonard is a no go we suggest turning to Anderson as a nice budget saver option while Butler becomes the next best play at the position.

In the end Gasol we just couldn’t look past Gasol who has a top three matchup at the center position tonight. Along with that Gasol has been pretty consistent posting at leat 33 fantasy points in five of his last seven games. Meanwhile you could also stack Mason Plumlee with Jokic for the Nuggets tonight against the Lakers.  Outside of Gasol none of the other top tier options standout based on their potential matchups.

For us though this contest could see a ton of scoring with two teams that like to move the ball up and down the court making it hard to look past Thompson. On a lower tier level Hardaway will look to take advantage of a Brooklyn Nets team that has allowed the most fantasy points to the shooting guard position this season.

Meanwhile to help offset some of that salary Hollis-Jefferson will look to take advantage of a Atlanta Hawks team that struggles to slow down opposing small forwards.

If Jokic is out as expected Morris is an option we do not want to miss tonight while someone like Paul Millsap could be an option if the Nuggets power forward is on the floor. Nonetheless we are going with Morris till we know more later today. Meanwhile Gordon continue to be a solid fantasy option now that he is back to playing the power forward position including three straight 30 plus fantasy outings.

Tonight’s Rockets/Jazz matchup should be entertaining matchup that features some solid fantasy performances. One matchup we love in this contest is Gobert against a Rockets team that has had their hands full slowing down opposing big men. Much of those struggles come from having the smaller center in Clint Capela while some of it comes due to the team’s fast pace of play and shot selection. In two meetings this season, Gobert has averaged 14 points to go along with 14 rebounds while posting over 34 minutes.

Meanwhile Barton has the third best overall matchup at the shooting guard position tonight.

Meanwhile Leonard should see a ton of opportunities to score as well as to pad the stats on the glass.

We strongly suggest monitoring the status on Jones throughout the day to see if he is expected to play. If that is not the case you could go with someone like Kristaps Porzingis or LaMarcus Aldridge in his place.

Along with that Biyombo showed against the Wizards when he gets 30 plus minutes he can be a solid fantasy contributor.

The 2017 calendar flips to March today as the NBA looks to deliver some excitement built around an 11 game slate. At the front of that slate features an Eastern Conference showdown in Toronto as DeMar DeRozan looks to lead his Raptors against a Washington Wizards team led by John Wall.

From a Daily Fantasy Basketball Option standpoint Wall is the more consistent of the two posting over 41 fantasy points in seven straight games. That being said with Kyle Lowry out, DeRozan will be leaned on down the stretch to pick up the slack including in big time games against other playoff teams fighting for seeding in the Eastern Conference.

While you could decide to go with both, for us we elected to go cheap and look at Henderson who has seen the floor for at least 25 minutes in six straight games while also getting the nod to start tonight.

Here is another one of those players we just can’t pass up on tonight in a game against a Celtics team that likes to put points up on the scoreboard while also being one of the higher predicted totals of the nigh. In the end James is one of those rare players who can post 40 fantasy points every night while also giving you a chance to earn 6-7 times his fantasy value. The sleeper of the night is Sefolosha who managed to pick up solid minutes in his last game.

Power Forwards – Willie Cauley-Stein & Markieff Morris

In GPP tournaments we love both Cauley-Stein and Morris with both having huge upsides. For Cauley-Stein he should continue to see an increased amount of minutes while helping take over for DeMarcus Cousins who was traded away. The Kings power forward has the best fantasy matchup of the night facing a Brooklyn Nets team that ranks last in the NBA. Meanwhile with Morris you just never know what you are going to get night in and night out. Entering tonight, Morris has four games over the 30 point fantasy mark over his last six games.
