FanDuel MLB Lineup for Tuesday August 18

The fantasy action is in full swing on Tuesday August 18th, 2015 as owners look to build that perfect FanDuel lineup. All 30 Major League Baseball teams are in action starting with a nice lineup of games getting underway at 7:05pm ET. For us these are the perfect nights to build a winning lineup as the options are endless so you can build your lineup with a stud starter or take a gamble on a fantasy sleeper on the mound to pave the way to a big pay day.

On Tuesday, FanDuel owners will have a few solid starting pitching options to build around including Clayton Kershaw and Jacob deGrom. Kershaw will look to help lead his Los Angeles Dodgers to a big victory over the Oakland A’s while deGrom looks to keep the New York Mets atop the National League East as they head to Baltimore to take on the red hot Baltimore Orioles.

Now for us when we look to build a winning FanDuel lineup we like to typically build one lineup to win either in GPP or 50/50 leagues. That being said we have took notice of the lineups that are winning in the 50/50 leagues and typically they stick to the script of using one of the top starters while throwing in a few FanDuel bargains along the way.

Using that model we love Kershaw against the A’s tomorrow night as they have struggled over the past few games finding a way to score. Now that does not mean we are saying don’t use him in your GPP leagues but we expect a high percent of users to build their lineup with both him and deGrom. This leaves you very little wiggle room to miss on a specific player.

Here are our top MLB FanDuel plays for Tuesday August 18th, 2015.

Starting Pitcher – John Danks ($6,500): The Chicago White Sox starter has been all over the fantasy board this season including four double digit fantasy outings over his last ten starts. Now for us we are looking at how well he has pitched against the Los Angeles Angels in his career allowing just a .228 batting average over 114 career at bats against current members of there team.

Option 2 – Clayton Kershaw ($13,400) & Option 3 – Eduardo Rodriguez ($7,400)

Catcher – Kurt Suzuki ($2,300): This play would work for any of our top three starting pitching options. While Suzuki has struggled to post a high batting average against C.C. Sabathia he has however hit four home runs and driven in nine runs over 33 career at bats.

Option 2- Brian McCann ($3,300) & Option 3 – Wilson Ramos ($2,900)

First Base – Miguel Cabrera ($5,300): The former American League MVP returned to the Detroit Tigers over the weekend. After a slow start on Friday, Cabrera was able to pick up four hits in seven at bats during the teams games on Saturday and Sunday including one home run.

Option 2- Ryan Zimmerman ($3,900) & Option 3 – Eric Hosmer ($4,000)

Second Base – DJ LeMahieu ($3,700): LeMahieu is a perfect fantasy FanDuel play on Tuesday Night as the Colorado Rockies play at home at Coors Field. LeMahieu is five for 11 in his career off of Jordan Zimmerman.

Option 2 – Enrique Hernandez ($2,400) & Option 3 – Dee Gordon ($3,400)

Third Base – Adrian Beltre ($3,300): We are strictly riding Beltre on Tuesday based on his past success against Hisashi Iwakuma. Beltre is 11 for 33 in his career off the Seattle Mariners starter with three home runs.

Option 2- Miguel Sano ($3,600) & Option 3 – Pablo Sandoval ($2,500)

Short Stop – Adeiny Hechavarria ($2,500): Looking for a cheaper fantasy option landed us on the Miami Marlins short stop. Hechavarria entered Monday Night having picked up hits in his last ten fantasy contests including three multi hit performances.

Option 2 – Ian Desmond ($4,000) & Option 3 – Jhonny Peralta ($2,500)

Outfielder – Bryce Harper ($5,700): We elected to go with two of the top hitters in all of baseball with Cabrera and Harper. Harper was one of those easy plays based on the Nationals game being played at hitter friendly Coors Field.

Outfielder – Daniel Nava ($2,200): Now since we elected to spend big on two MLB Super Stars this opens the door up for some FanDuel bargains. Nava is one of those guys based on his past success against Scott Feldman including five hits in 10 career at bats.

Outfielder – Jacoby Ellsbury ($3,000) Anytime the New York Yankees are at home, the idea of using Ellsbury crosses my mind. Ellsbury had picked up three multi hit games over his last four contests entering Monday.

Option 4 – Nick Markakis ($2,900)

Option 5 – David DeJesus ($2,200)

Option 6 – Carlos Gonzalez ($4,900)
