FanDuel MLB Lineup for Friday August 28th

The last weekend of August delivers us some big time fantasy options as we look to cash in on FanDuel. For tonight, all 30 Major League Baseball clubs are in action including some big time matchups including the St. Louis Cardinals traveling out to San Francisco to take on the Giants.

Along with that matchup tonight a few of the other key matchups we like include the Detroit Tigers heading to Toronto to take on the Blue Jays while the Baltimore Orioles travel to Texas to take on the Rangers. All four of these clubs can produce big time fantasy numbers, add in the ability to hit in a hitters ball park makes those rosters our key focus point.

Outside of those four teams tonight also features a stellar list of top of the rotation starters who could easily carry any fantasy team. The list includes the Clayton Kershaw for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Max Scherzer for the Washington Nationals, Matt Harvey for the New York Mets, Sonny Gray for the Oakland A’s, Cole Hamels for the Texas Rangers as well as Michael Wacha for the ST. Louis Cardinals.

The only one of those we are leaning towards not using is Hamels as he will face a Orioles team that is capable of hitting the long ball.

Here is our complete MLB FanDuel lineup for Friday August, 28th, 2015.

Starting Pitcher – Matt Harvey ($11,000): While we liked the idea of using Kershaw but elected to save a few dollars going with the Mets starter. That being said Harvey has turned in five straight double digit fantasy performances.

Option 2 – Clayton Kershaw ($13,000) & Option 3 – Masahiro Tanaka ($9,200)

Catcher – Alex Avila ($2,200): The Tigers catcher is a perfect cheap option behind the plate to save us a few dollars. That being said monitor the lineups as they are posted but nonetheless Avila has five hits in 14 at bats against R.A. Dickey in his career.

Option 2 – Russell Martin ($2,500) & Option 3 – Jonathan Lucroy ($3,200)

First Base – Jose Abreu ($4,100): Our top option is Miguel Cabrera tonight at the Roger Centre. The downside is we also wanted to use his teammate Ian Kinsler against the Blue Jays. In the end we settled for Abreu who is riding an eight game hitting streak including five doubles, two home runs and eight runs batted in.

Option 2 – Miguel Cabrera ($5,500) & Option 3 – Eric Hosmer ($3,500)

Second Base – Ian Kinsler ($4,200): Kinsler was an easy option based on his past success against the Blue Jays starter. In his career Kinsler is six for 16 in his career off of Dickey with two home runs.

Option 2 – Jonathan Schoop ($2,600) & Option 3 – Scooter Gennett ($2,200)

Third Base – Todd Frazier ($2,900): We were looking for a power bat at third base that also fit under the $3,000 target. That landed us with the Cincinnati Reds third baseman tonight against the Milwuakee Brewers at Miller Park.

Option 2 – Josh Donaldson ($6,000) & Option 3 – Kyle Seager ($3,100)

Short Stop – Jean Segura ($2,500): Segura is always a solid FanDuel bargain including when the Brewers have a chance to play in the hitters friendly ball park. Segura has four multi hit games over his last ten.

Option 2 – Troy Tulowitzki ($3,900) & Option 3 – Jimmy Rollins ($2,700)

Outfielder – Andre Ethier ($2,300): Ethier should continue to get starts after the Dodgers were dealt another injury blow to Yasiel Puig. Add in the fact Ethier is nine for 27 in his career against Jason Hammel with two home runs.

Outfielder – Austin Jackson ($2,500): The Seattle Mariners outfielder is another solid option tonight based on his past success against John Danks. Jackson is 23 for 52 off the White Sox starter with six extra base hits including three home runs as well as 12 runs batted in.

Outfielder – Shin-Soo Choo ($3,200): One thing for sure is the fact the Orioles are struggling that includes on the mound. This opens up the option for a few Rangers to be a key play tonight. Choo is riding six hits over his last 14 at bats with a pair of runs batted in and runs scored.

Option 4 – Nelson Cruz ($5,000), Option 5 – Carlos Gonzalez ($3,800) and Option 6 – Mark Trumbo ($2,800)
