FanDuel NFL Week 5 Thursday Night Lineup

Fanduel MLB $5 contest 728X90

The 2015 NFL season continues to roll along as FanDuel owners look to cash in during week 5. This weeks action gets started with an AFC South matchup on Thursday Night Football as the Houston Texans welcome the Indianapolis Colts to NRG Stadium.

For us this contest is an interesting matchup with a few big questions that all FanDuel owners and Fantasy Owners will be asking themselves. One of the biggest questions entering this contest is whether or not Andrew Luck will play this week after missing the team’s week 4 contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The second big question is which Houston Texans defense will show up the one that held the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to just nine points the week before or the one that gave up 42 points over the first three quarters to the Atlanta Falcons in week 4? Each of these questions could lead to a few key plays for FanDuel owners looking to build from the Thursday Night Football lineup.

One of those plays could be Matt Hasselbeck as a FanDuel deep sleeper if he gets the nod on the short week. While this might be a gamble play but the veteran was able to complete 30 of 47 passes for 282 yards with a touchdown in week 4. One advantage we see in going with Hasselbeck this week is the percentage of owners that might elect to use him could play to your advantage.

In the end we recommend monitoring the Thursday Night injury report leading up to kickoff on Thursday before going with Hasselbeck in any fantasy action.

That being said here is our week 5 NFL FanDuel lineup starting with the Thursday Night lineup including options.

Quarterback – Tom Brady ($8,800): After having week 4 off the New England Patriots quarterback gets back to work in week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys. That same Cowboys defense that allowed 358 yards and two passing touchdowns in week 4 against Drew Brees.

Other top FanDuel Quarterbacks for week 5 include Peyton Manning, Marcus Mariota and Drew Brees.

Running Back – Chris Thompson ($5,100): We tossed around a few options at the running back position but the more we thought about it we liked the Washington Redskins running back in week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons have allowed a league high seven rushing touchdowns as well as a league high 365 receiving yards to the running back position.

Running Back – Le’Veon Bell ($9,000): Now that Bell is back in the mix for the Pittsburgh Steelers we expect Mike Tomlin to work him into the offense as much as possible. This week he has a legit matchup against a San Diego Chargers team on Monday Night that has allowed over 750 yards on the ground and six total touchdowns to the running back position.

Other top FanDuel Running Backs for week 5 include Darren McFadden, Eddie Lacy and Justin Forsett.

Wide Receiver – Marques Colston ($5,300): Looking for a Fantasy Sleeper landed us with the New Orleans Saints wide receiver. While we also liked Brandin Cooks in this matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles we elected to free up some cash.

Wide Receiver – Demaryius Thomas ($8,600): We love the Broncos matchup against the Raiders in week 5. You could also go with Emmanuel Sanders who would also save you a few dollars as well.

Wide Receiver – Danny Amendola ($4,600): Looking at wide receiver options that could put up a big game as well as not find his name in a ton of fantasy lineups. Amendola who has been a disappointment since arriving in New England was able to pull in five catches for 39 yards and one touchdown in his last game.

Other top FanDuel Wide Receivers for week 5 include Alshon Jeffery (Monitor his status), Travis Benjamin, Jeremy Maclin, Cole Beasley and Julio Jones.

Tight End – Rob Gronkowski ($8,400): Anytime you elect to go with Tom Brady you have to go with his number one receiver. Through three games this season, Gronkowski has pulled in 16 catches for 308 yards and four touchdown grabs.

Other top FanDuel Tight Ends for week 5 include Owen Daniels, Zach Ertz and Antonio Gates.

Kicker – Brandon McManus ($5,000): The Denver Broncos Kicker has connected on nine of nine field goals this season as well as all ten of his extra points. This week should be a great opportunity for the Broncos offense to move the ball up and down the field against a struggling Oakland Raiders defense.

Other top FanDuel Kicker for week 5 include Zach Hocker, Adam Vinatieri and Chandler Catanzaro.

Defense – Kansas City Chiefs ($4,600): The Chiefs defense has a chance to get back on track in week 5 against the Chicago Bears. The same Bears offense that has struggled to score more than 23 points in any game this season including being shut out in week three.

Other top FanDuel Defenses for week 5 include Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals.
