Strategies
The middle of the week has arrived as FanDuel owners get set for another week of NFL action kicking off on Thursday Night Football. This weeks lineup of games includes some solid fantasy options kicking off with the Miami Dolphins heading to New England to take on the Patriots on Thursday Night Football.
One of the top fantasy options will be quarterback Tom Brady as he continues to look for success on Thursday Night Football. Brady has played well on Thursday Night Football that includes throwing 12 touchdowns in his last five games dating back to the 2011 season.
His stat line also includes two games with over 300 yards passing as well as three total rushing touchdowns. Add in Brady’s success this season for Fantasy Owners makes him our top Fantasy Quarterback option or FanDuel for week 8 of the 2015 NFL Season.
Along wit Brady a few other solid fantasy plays at quarterback include Philip Rivers against the Baltimore Ravens, Matt Ryan against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Alex Smith against the Detroit Lions. Moving along from the quarterback position here a few of our other top fantasy plays for week 8.
At the running back position we like Justin Forsett against a San Diego Chargers team that has allowed 1,230 combined yards and 10 total touchdowns to the running back position this season. At the receiver position we like Brandon LaFell as a FanDuel bargain while trying to return to his 2014 form. Then you have Rob Gronkowski at tight end but we also like Jeff Cumberland as a deep fantasy sleeper for the New York Jets against the Oakland Raiders.
Now let’s take a look at our NFL FanDuel Lineup including the Thursday Night Football matchup for week 8.
Quarterback – Tom Brady ($9,200): The New England Patriots quarterback has been a solid option in each week this season. That includes scoring at least 22 fantasy points a game for his fantasy owners. His success should continue on Thursday Night Football against division rivals the Miami Dolphins.
Other top NFL FanDuel Quarterback Options include Alex Smith, Matt Ryan and Philip Rivers.
Running Back – Dexter McCluster ($5,200): We thought about going with either McCluster or teammate Antonio Andrews against the Houston Texans this weekend. In the end we like the matchup McCluster creates as a receiver to garner the start this weekend.
Running Back – Marshawn Lynch ($8,300): Lynch has found the end zone in back to back weekends raising his fantasy value leading up to his matchup this weekend against the Dallas Cowboys. Entering this contest the Cowboys are allowing the third most fantasy points to the running back position according to ESPN.
Other top NFL FanDuel Running Back Options include Chris Johnson, Justin Forsett and Doug Martin.
Wide Receiver – Brandon LaFell ($5,500): Anytime we start Brady we are going to stack our fantasy lineup around him. Now that being said while Julian Edelman is the top option and Danny Amendola the second option we like LaFell to work back into the mix this week.
Wide Receiver – Steve Johnson ($5,900): We debated going with Keenan Allen but went with the cheaper option to free up some salary cap space. That being said if you elect to go with Rivers you could use the extra cap to upgrade at this spot. The Chargers offense should be able to move the ball up the field against a Baltimore Ravens team that has struggled against the pass.
Wide Receiver – Stefon Diggs ($6,700): Diggs has posted four straight games with at least double digit fantasy numbers. This week he gets a shot against a Chicago Bears secondary that has surrendered 11 touchdown receptions.
Other top NFL FanDuel Wide Receiver Options include Calvin Johnson, Tavon Austin, Julio Jones, Rishard Matthews, Corey Brown and Chris Conley.
Tight End – Rob Gronkowski ($8,400): The move to use Gronk was a difficult one despite using Brady at quarterback simply based on his salary cap figure. In the end Gronk has touchdowns in four of the Patriots six games this season while being the Patriots biggest threat inside the red zone.
Other top NFL FanDuel Tight End Options include Jeff Cumberland, Tyler Eifert and Benjamin Watson.
Kicker – Steven Hauschka ($5,100): The Seattle Seahawks kicker has a pretty favorable matchup on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. On the season, Haushka has posted double digit fantasy numbers in five of seven games.
Other top NFL FanDuel Kicker Options include Chandler Catanzaro, Stephen Gostkowski and Blair Walsh.
Defense – Arizona Cardinals ($5,400): We tossed around the idea of using the St. Louis Rams as our defense but elected to go with the Cardinals. The Cardinals get a shot at the Cleveland Browns this week a team the Rams posted 25 fantasy points against in week 7.
Other top NFL Defense Options include Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams and Seattle Seahawks.
