Strategies
The bulk of the Major League Baseball action gets underway early but that won’t stop us from looking to cash in on the night time action. In all six games are going to place including three games getting underway at 7:15pm ET while the other three games get underway after 10:05pm ET.
For us the game we will have our attention on features the Miami Marlins heading out west to Arizona to take on the Diamondbacks at Chase Field. In this contest the Marlins will send out their ace Jose Fernandez who has been brilliant for his fantasy owners of late.
Over his last six starts, Fernandez has not yielded less than 51 fantasy points in each of those starts while four of the starts have be at least 63 or more fantasy points. Much of his success over that stretch has been his ability to strike out opposing hitters picking up four multi strikeout performances to go along with six and nine k’s.
Now before we get to our MLB FanDuel Lineups for Saturday June 11th, 2016 we wanted to make note that a few of these games could have some weather concerns. That includes the contest between the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees as they are calling for at least a 50 percent chance of showers making the starting pitchers both a big time fantasy gamble. The St. Louis Cardinals/Pittsburgh Pirates game is the other game with a chance of rain that does not have a feature to close a roof.
FanDuel Hitters We Like On Saturday Night
Brandon Belt, San Francisco Giants: The Giants first baseman is having a solid 2016 MLB campaign and we expect that success to continue against Scott Kazmir. In his career Belt has picked up five hits in 10 career at bats against the Los Angeles Dodgers left hander including three of those hits leaving the ball field.
Alex Rodriguez, New York Yankees: When you look at the past success A-Rod has had against Justin Verlander it is hard not to consider putting him in your lineup. In his career the Yankees third baseman has picked up five home runs while posting a .344 career batting average in 32 career at bats.
Pitchers We Like On Saturday Night
Jose Fernandez, Miami Marlins: We are sticking with Fernandez as the top fantasy option on the mound during the six game night cap. Fernandez and the Marlins faced off against the Arizona Diamondbacks back on May 4th as he finished with seven strikeouts over five innings while posting 39 fantasy points.
Patrick Corbin, Arizona Diamondbacks: Now we also like Francisco Liriano but we like the value side that Corbin brings to the plate. That being said we only suggest using the Diamondbacks starter in lineups you will be using in tournament play as he is a big time fantasy gamble. We have seen Corbin turn in to contests with at least 42 fantasy points over his last eight games but he has also failed to reach more than 20 fantasy points in five of those games as well.
The Stack List:
Franklin Gutierrez/Kyle Seager/Robinson Cano, Seattle Mariners: These three have hit opposing starter Colby Lewis well in their career. Entering their showdown on Saturday Night, the three have combined to pick up 25 hits in 71 career at bats including five home runs with 15 runs batted in. You could also throw in Nelson Cruz who also has three career extra base hits off of him with one of those leaving the yard.
Starlin Marte/Gregory Polanco/Josh Harrison, Pittsburgh Pirates: Now typically we might shy away from using two outfielders from the same team but they have picked up a bunch of hits off of Carlos Martinez in their career. The two have combined to hit .500 off of Martinez in 30 career at bats including five extra base hits.
