Strategies
The daily fantasy baseball action will run through the Nations Capital on Wednesday Night as Max Scherzer takes the hill for the Washington Nationals. The Nats starter has been on a tear for his fantasy owners posting at least 33 fantasy points in five straight starts.
Along with those numbers, Scherzer has been good in June pitching to a 2.38 earned run average over 34 innings of work. That includes a rough outing in his last start where he gave up five runs as well as the team failing to score more than three runs in either of his last two starts resulting in losses in both games.
The other top option tonight is Danny Salazar as he will look to pitch his Cleveland Indians to a win over the Atlanta Braves. Much like Scherzer, the Indians top starter has been pretty consistent for his fantasy owners turning in at least 39 fantasy points in eight of his last ten starts.
Now the downside with going with these two starters is they heavy price tag each one will carry. That leaves us to figure out which fantasy sleepers will pick up the slack tonight to help us take home some cash on FanDuel.
FanDuel Hitters We Like On Wednesday June 29th, 2016
Billy Butler, Oakland A’s: We could have slotted Butler on the Fantasy Sleepers list as well as he carries just a $2,600 price tag. That being said the A’s designated hitter has hit Jake Peavy well in his career picking up 16 hits in 36 career at bats with three of those hits leaving the ball park.
Brian Dozier, Minnesota Twins: Here is a chance to take advantage of a struggling starter as the Twins take on James Shield and the Chicago White Sox. In his career Dozier has hit Shields well picking up six extra base hits in 22 career at bats. Add in the fact Shields has allowed at least six earned runs in four of his last five starts makes Dozier a perfect play tonight.
FanDuel Pitchers We Like On Wednesday June 29th, 2016
Max Scherzer, Washington Nationals: Tonight Scherzer will look to continue his success on the mound against the New York Mets. Scherzer pitched against the Mets back on May 17th finishing 6.1 innings while striking out 10 batters to push him to a 43 point fantasy performance.
FanDuel Fantasy Sleepers We Like on Wednesday June 29th, 2016
Joel De La Cruz, Atlanta Braves: This is a deep fantasy sleeper option for FanDuel owners looking to take a big time gamble. The Braves starter will be called up for the start tonight after posting just four earned runs over his last 15 innings of work at Triple A.
Kolten Wong, St. Louis Cardinals: Going with a top tier starters means finding a cheap bargain to free up some salary. One of those options in Wong in the outfield as he warrants just a $2,200 salary but has turned in double digit fantasy performances in two of his last three games.
The Stack List:
Brian Dozier/Joe Mauer/Eduardo Nunez: These three Twins have picked up 33 career hits off of James Shields with five home runs in just 88 career at bats.
Matt Carpenter/Aledmys Diaz: Carpenter and Diaz has been on fire for the St. Louis Cardinals of late going 11 for 25 over their last three games. In that stretch the two have combined to pick up six doubles, one triple, four home home runs, score eight runs while driving in eight runs.
