Today we are going to kick off of Fantasy Football Training Camp by looking at the quarterback position. We are going to tell you who we like, who to pass up, who might surprise you as well as put a ranking on all 30 potential NFL starting quarterbacks heading into draft time.
Lets get started today breaking down all 30 NFL quarterbacks.
NFL Quarterbacks We Like in 2016
Blake Bortles, Jacksonville Jaguars: Bortles continues to improve as an NFL quarterback and we expect that progress to inch toward becoming one of the young faces of the NFL. Last season Bortles finished seven in the NFL in passing yards (4,428) and tied for second in the NFL with 35 touchdown passes. If his young top tier wide receiving crew stays healthy Bortles could be fighting for upwards of 5,000 yards and 40 plus touchdowns in 2016.
Derek Carr, Oakland Raiders: Heres another young quarterback we like heading in to the upcoming NFL season. Much like Bortles he improved from his rookie season and now with a full season to get in to rhythm with Amari Cooper we expect the two to be one of the top qb/wr duo in the NFL.
Other NFL quarterbacks we like in 2016 include Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees.
NFL Quarterbacks To Pass Up in 2016
Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens: Coming off a knee injury is a difficult task unless your name is Adrian Peterson. For Flacco he has the arm to put up the numbers but question marks at the left tackle position has us worried he can stay healthy while questions about the health of Steve Smith and Breshad Perriman could limit his offensive production.
Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals: The Cardinals signal caller will turn 37 in December and that has us worried. While he did put up a big time fantasy season in 2015 this shouldn’t be how we rate him heading into the 2016 NFL season. While we like him over some of the lower tier options we suggest looking to him in double digits of quarterbacks drafted.
Other NFL quarterbacks to pass up on in 2016 include Ben Roethlisberger, Tyrod Taylor, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Andy Dalton.
NFL Quarterback Surprises in 2016
Teddy Bridgewater, Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings quarterback took a small step forward in 2016 with the emergence of Stefon Diggs. Now the team added Laquon Treadwell to his weapon arsenal a move that could see Bridgewater top the 4,000 yard mark while also add a dual threat scoring option inside the red zone.
Robert Griffin III, Cleveland Browns: This is more of a move to fill your back up quarterback position or if you are taking a fantasy gamble in week 1 on FanDuel or DraftKings. That being said we like the fact he has Hue Jackson as his head coach and someone who has shown he can help quarterbacks develop including Joe Flacco and Andy Dalton over the past few seasons.
