The start of 2016 NFL Season has begun as Thursday Night Football wrapped up with a stellar defensive battle. That being said while full season Fantasy Football is in full force the daily season on sites like FanDuel and DraftKings are just beginning with chances to take home One Million Dollars in week 1.
For us this is a perfect opportunity to start planning out a game plan for the weekends full slate of opportunities. The first place we are going to start today is taking a look a some of the best Value Fantasy Plays of the Weekend as well as a few Fantasy Sleepers to help you save some salary cap space.
One of those Fantasy Sleepers we like is the Baltimore Ravens running back Terrance West. While it is uncertain at this point how many touches he will get week 1 he is one running back that performed very well this preseason. West has some additional motivation after growing up in the city of Baltimore. Now we like West more in the GPP tournament format as he is a high risk, high reward type of player at just $4,700 on FanDuel.
As far as a Value Option we like quarterback Robert Griffin III in week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Cleveland Browns quarterback showed flashes of his ability to make plays with both his feet and arm during the preseason including hitting a few deep touchdown passes. Good news Griffin carries just a $6,900 salary cap hit on FanDuel.
Lets take a look at the rest of our Value & Sleeper Daily Fantasy Plays for Week 1 of the 2016 NFL Season.
Breshad Perriman (Fantasy Sleeper): Entering the season we like the Ravens offense to put up some points. That being said after missing the entire 2015 NFL Season we expect Perriman to become a key member of the Ravens passing attack. Much like West, Perriman is more of a GPP play but he does have the speed and physical abilities to make him a fantasy stud at the receiver position.
Jared Cook (Value Play): Looking at the list of Tight Ends has us shaking our heads as Cook falls below players like Jason Witten (No Tony Romo) and Austin Seferian-Jenkins (Up /Down Player). For us Cook has a chance to be top 2/3 tight end in the Green Bay Packers offense with Aaron Rodgers behind center.
Blaine Gabbert (Fantasy Sleeper): Taking a big time gamble has its risk but has its rewards as well and that is where Gabbert lands in week 1. We only like his play in GPP Formats but he is a player to consider highly with Chip Kelly as his head coach. In the three previous seasons the Eagles offense ranked 12th (2015), 5th (2014) and 2nd in 2013 in total offense. This opens up a ton of opportunities for Gabbert as his supporting cast to put up some fantasy numbers.
Eli Rogers (Fantasy Sleeper): All we have heard about this offseason was how good the Pittsburgh Steelers offense could be in 2016. For us while we love Antonio Brown but we expect teams to do everything in their power to limit him opening up the door for other receivers. In week 1 we like both Rogers and Sammie Coates as Deep Fantasy Sleeper plays in GPP formats as we aren’t quite sure who will slot in as the number three receiver yet.
Other Fantasy Sleeper Options include Michael Thomas (If Healthy), DeAndre Washington and Dennis Pitta.
Other Fantasy Value Play Options include Joe Flacco, T.J. Yeldon, Victor Cruz and LeGarrette Blount.
