The second of the four Major Championships of the PGA Season has arrived as golfers get set for Thursday’s opening round of the US Open. For fantasy sports owners this is also a chance for everyone to cash in on the PGA action including a chance to take home the $1 Million Dollar top prize on Draft Kings.

Over the next day we will take a look at which players are both playing hot right now and which ones have struggled leading up to the US Open. We will also bring you are top PGA Daily Fantasy Sports Options for the US Open including which bargains we like and which ones we don’t.

For now we are going to take a look around the golf world at which players have been hot leading up to the 2017 US Open.

Daniel Berger – Won FedEx St. Jude Classic

The 24 year old American is coming off an impressive ten under at last weekend’s FedEx St. Jude Classic to take home the top spot. Despite struggling at the Player Championship back in May, Berger placed 27th at the Masters back in April. On the year Berger has made the cut in 12 of his 16 tournaments while placing in the top 10 in four of those events.

Kevin Kisner – Won Dean & Deluca Invitational

The former Georgia Bulldog has been solid on the year making the cut in 14 of his 17 total events. This includes making three straight events. Over that stretch, Kisner finished sixth at the Memorial Tournament after shooting an eight under. This success came just a week after Kisner fired off a ten under to take home the Dean & Deluca Invitational.

Byeong-Hun An – 3 Straight Top 25 Performances

While An has yet to take home a title this season he has been consistent for most of the 2017 PGA Season. An enters the 2017 US Open placing in the top 25 in three straight tournaments including a fifth place finish at the AT&T Byron Nelson as well as an eighth place finish at the Wells Fargo Championship. On the year An has made the cut in 14 of his 15 events while finishing in the top ten in three of those events.

Other golfers that have been hot this season include Adam Scott, Ricky Fowler, Dustin Johnson and Louis Oosthuizen.

Meanwhile on the other end here are a few golfers who are usually big time fantasy options that have struggled over the past few weeks leading into the 2017 US Open.

Jim Furyk – Missed The Cut In 6 Straight Tournaments

Now it wouldn’t surprise me to see Furyk sneak into the leaderboard but right now it would be a difficult decision for anyway to place him on there rosters. Entering the 2017 US Open, Furyk has only made the cut in five of his 13 total events including missing them in each of the last six tournaments he has played including at the Masters. On the year Furyk has only one top 10 performance coming back in February at the Genesis Open.

Nick Watney – No Top 10 Performances in 2017

For us one name we liked last season was Watney based on his solid performance and his salary cap number. The same can’t be said this season as Watney has not put it all together despite making the cut in nine of his 15 total events. This includes shooting at least three over in three of his last four events while failing to crack the top 40 in any of those events.

K.J. Choi – Missed Cut In 12 Of 17 Tournaments in 2017

Much like Watney, Choi was a solid fantasy play during the 2016 PGA Season. That solid success has not rolled over to 2017 as Choi has failed to finish in the top 20 in all but one event including missing the cut in 12 of those tournaments. While he bounced back with an even round of play last week at the FedEx St. Jude Classic, Choi is still a player to avoid at the 2017 US Open.
