Strategies
The weekend is gone and Monday has arrived but that won’t slow us down this week as we have another busy week of fantasy action on FanDuel. Tonight fantasy owners have a ten game lineup to build rosters around featuring a few big named starters that should garnish a ton of attention. One of those starters is Zach Greinke.
Greinke will take the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers at home as they welcome the New York Mets to town. The Dodgers starter has been brilliant in his last five starts posting double digit fantasy points in each contest. Along with the double digit fantasy numbers, Greinke has been very consistent posting at least six strikeouts in four of his six starts this season.
Other big name fantasy starters taking the hill tonight include Max Scherzer for the Washington Nationals, Jacob deGrom for the New York Mets, Jon Lester for the Chicago Cubs and Shelby Miller for the St. Louis Cardinals. The question is which of these starters will turn in the best fantasy performance?
Before setting your lineup take the time to monitor the lineups later today as well as the weather situation. While the forecast lists don’t say rain in Baltimore they are calling for bad storms as well as rain in Cincinnati.
Here is our FanDuel lineup for Monday May 11th, 2015.
P – Zach Greinke ($10,300): It was a difficult decision for tonight’s lineup as we tossed around the big names as well as Mike Leake and Ubaldo Jimenez. If you decide to go cheaper consider one of those two options based on their success against the team they are facing. In the end we elected to ride Greinke’s recent fantasy success.
C – Salvador Perez ($2,700): The Kansas City Royals catcher is a perfect option tonight after getting the day off on Sunday. Perez and the Royals take on the Rangers in Texas in one of the best hitters ball parks in all of baseball.
First Base – Prince Fielder ($3,100): We loved Adrian Gonzalez tonight as well but elected to go with the Prince based on his fantasy salary. The Rangers first baseman has not produced a negative fantasy performance over his last 10 games while posting four with over three fantasy points.
Second Base – Dustin Pedroia ($2,900): Looking at past success against a single pitcher landed us with the Boston Red Sox second baseman. Pedroia is hitting .500 off of Scott Kazmir for his career with 19 hits in 38 at bats including two home runs and five runs driven in.
Third Base – Evan Longoria ($3,800): The Tampa Bay Rays third baseman is a perfect option tonight for fantasy owners. Take his past success against CC Sabathia with six career home runs and his three home runs over his last four games lands him at the hot corner for us tonight.
Short Stop – JJ Hardy ($2,300): Hardy and the Baltimore Orioles finally make a return trip home after not playing there in two weeks. Look for the team and Hardy to thrive off the fan support tonight against the Toronto Blue Jays. This will also be Hardy’s first home game of the season after returning from the Disable List.
Outfielder – Gerardo Parra ($2,800): Looking for a somewhat of a bargain in the outfield we elected to go with Parra for the Milwaukee Brewers. In his career he has hit Jeff Smardzija well connecting on a home run while batting .364.
Outfielder – Ryan Braun ($4,000): While we loved Bryce Harper tonight we couldn’t find a way to figure his high salary into the mix. That being said Braun has nine hits in 18 at bats again Smardzija with three home runs and seven runs batted in.
Outfielder – Jayson Werth ($3,100): Werth might not be Harper but he has been swinging a solid bat of late picking up five hits over his last 15 at bats with a home run, two runs batted in, four runs scored and two walks.
