Strategies
The weekend is slowly approaching as the MLB action is starting to heat up on FanDuel this hump day. In the end it looks like we should have went heavy with the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday Night as the club smashed a record eight home runs with one of those guys being Manny Machado.
Machado is typically an anchor in our lineup but we elected to go in a different direction yesterday. Now since we got that out of the way lets start taking a look at a few players who could reward us tonight starting with the top tier starters taking the mound.
In all fantasy owners have seven top tier starters taking the mound including Clayton Kershaw, Felix Hernandez, David Price, Johnny Cueto, Madison Bumgarner and Michael Pineda. As we look at these guys the one guy that stands out is Bumgarner going up against a Seattle Mariners team that has struggled to put up offensive numbers
Then on the bargain side of FanDuel one name to help free up some salary cap relief is David Lough for the Baltimore Orioles. Lough would have been a nice option tonight as he launched a three run home run in the Orioles blowout win over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Now before we get going we always like to remind you to check the updated lineups each team will put out later in the day as well as what type of weather each game will be expecting.
Here is our MLB FanDuel Lineup for Wednesday June 17th, 2015.
P – Madison Bumgarner ($10,500): The San Francisco Giants ace has pitched well of late posting double digit fantasy numbers in back to back contests as well as nine times over his last 10 outings.
C – Yadier Molina ($2,800): Molina finally found his home run swing this week as he hit his first home run of the season. That being said the St. Louis Cardinals catcher has been solid of late posting three multi-hit performances over his last five games. Add in some power and Molina could be a threat for his fantasy owners if he gets hot.
First Base – Adrian Gonzalez ($3,300): We like the Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman against Wandy Rodriguez of the Texas Rangers. That being said, Gonzalez is a great fantasy play at just $3,300 on Wednesday. Gonzalez has 1 home runs this season to go with 43 runs batted in
Second Base – DJ LeMahieu ($3,300): LeMahieu is another fantasy play we like a lot on Wednesday as the Colorado Rockies play at home at Coors Field. The Rockies second baseman has at least three fantasy points in four of his last ten ball games.
Third Base – Maikel Franco ($2,900): The Phillies young infielder launched his sixth home run of the season on Tuesday Night. Add in the fact he is facing off against Ubaldo Jimenez on Wednesday makes him a solid start. Jimenez has shown in his career he has the tendancy to walk a ton of batters as well as give up the long ball.
Short Stop – Sean Rodriguez ($2,200): Before anchoring the Pittsburgh Pirates short stop in your lineup monitor the MLB lineups. That being said, Rodrigues is six for 16 in his career against John Danks with three extra base hits.
Outfielder – David Lough ($2,200): We built our lineup around our top tier starting pitcher meaning we had to go cheap at a few of the positions. One of those positions is outfield with David Lough. Like we said with Rodriguez monitor the lineups if he is in the lineup he is a solid option for $2,200. Lough is seven for 11 off of Kevin Correia for his career with three extra base hits.
Outfielder – Carlos Gonzalez ($3,800): When the Rockies play home we love to find a few players from that matchup. That being said we would have loved to work Troy Tulowitzki in the lineup but Gonzalez will have to do. Cargo has four home runs over his last 10 games with nine runs batted in.
Outfielder – Yoenis Cespedes ($3,700): One thing that stands out when we look at the Tigers outfielder is his ability to avoid zero production fantasy performances. Oer his last 10 games, Cespedes picked up at least three fantasy points in six of those contests.
