The weekends finally here with a chance for fantasy owners to cash in on the NBA on FanDuel. The NBA schedule is filled tonight with a 13 game slate featuring some of the top fantasy stars from around the game. The list includes Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins.
While that lineup sounds like it could dominate but the reality is that will never happen on FanDuel as all five of those players are in the top half of salaries taking the floor tonight. Despite all the top talent the large slate of NBA games gives us a great selection mid to lower tier players to also build your roster around.
The starting point for our lineups tonight is at the point guard position where we have saw a lot of success going with a combo of two point guards that are more expensive. After looking at all the point guards and comparing them to the amount of fantasy points their opponents have allowed this season it turned us to a few options.
The first point guard we like is Ty Lawson going up against the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks enter tonights game allowing the fourth most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season. The other play we like is Stephen Curry against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder have struggled over their last five games allowing nearly 45 fantasy points a game to the point guard position.
As far as another option to replace Curry you can consider using Brandon Jennings of the Detroit Pistons against the Indiana Pacers.
Here is our complete FanDuel Lineup for Friday January 16.
Point Guard – Ty Lawson ($9,100): Like we said above Lawson has a great play against an aging Mavericks team that has had trouble against the point guard position all season.
Point Guard – Stephen Curry ($10,500): The Golden State Warriors guard has been red hot posting six straight games with over 42 fantasy points including a high of 58 in that same stretch.
Shooting Guard – Eric Gordon ($4,800): Since his return Gordon has played well for the New Orleans Pelicans including three twenty fantasy point performances in his first five games. Tonight the Pelicans have a great fantasy play against a Philadelphia 76ers team allowing the most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards.
Shooting Guard – Bradley Beal ($6,400): Beal looks to lead his Washington Wizards over the Brooklyn Nets tonight. In his last 10 games, Beal has posted four 30 plus fantasy points performances for his fantasy owners.
Small Forward – K.J. McDaniels ($4,700): McDaniels is not only a great fantasy play based on his cost but also his matchup against the Pelicans. The 76ers small forward is coming off a 30.1 fantasy performance in the teams last game.
Small Forward – Andrew Wiggins ($7,300): Wiggins might have the top fantasy matchup of the night at the small forward position against the Suns. Over their last five games the Suns are the only team in the NBA allowing over 40 fantasy points a game to opposing small forwards.
Power Forward – Luis Scola ($4,600): Scola is another one of those bargain buy type of player that can also reward his fantasy owners with over 20 plus fantasy points on any given night.
Power Forward – Jared Sullinger ($6,600): Sullinger has dropped four straight games over 25 fantasy points including 46.5 points two games ago. Over his last 10 games, Sullinger has a total of four forty point fantasy performances.
Center – Jusuf Nurkic ($5,300): Since taking over the starting duties and seeing his minutes rise his fantasy performance has also increased. In his last seven games, the Nuggets center is averaging over 30.5 fantasy points per contest.
