James Harden looks to deliver primetime performance for FanDuel owners tonight. Harden leads his Houston Rockets into Los Angeles to take on a Lakers team that continues to get bad news. This is the same Lakers team that has lost seven straight games allowing 94 points or higher in six of seven contests.
While the matchup for Harden might not be as high as some of the other fantasy plays today on FanDuel we still like the matchup. The Lakers are a depleted team that just lost their only star player Kobe Bryant for the remainder of the season. Then you have Harden’s recent success for fantasy owners.
Over his last three games, Harden has posted three straight contests of over 50 fantasy points including two 60 point contests. As you continue to look at Hardens fantasy performance over the last three weeks he has only failed to score less than 30 fantasy points in one contests.
Along with Harden, we like Anthony Davis going up against the Dallas Mavericks. Since returning from a three game layoff with an injury. The New Orleans Pelicans power forward has put up a 51.1 point performance and a 40.4 point fantasy performance. These two plays would give you to of the top fantasy scorers in the NBA and almost a guaranteed 65-75 return of investment.
Here is our Fanduel lineup for January 25th barring any late scratches or injuries.
PG – D.J. Augustin ($3,800): Augustin is worth the shot at the point position with the loss of Brandon Jennings to the Detroit Pistons. This will also give your team some salary cap relief to bolster the team at other positions.
PG – Jeff Teague ($8,200): The Atlanta Hawks are taking on a Minnesota Timberwolves team that has struggles against opposing point guards. Opposing point guards are averaging over 41 fantasy points a game on the season.
SG – James Harden ($11,100): This move was simply based on Hardens proven track record this season and his matchup against a very bad Lakers team. Look for Harden to record at least 35 or more fantasy points.
SG – O.J. Mayo ($4,500): Mayo recorded his second 30 point contest over his last ten games. This is a strong improvement making Mayo a solid fantasy play at a nice price tag of $4,500.
SF – Paul Pierce ($4,800): Pierce had an ideal matchup on Saturday and cashed in with over 30 fantasy points. The same type of situation is present today against a Denver Nuggets team allowing a league high 36.1 fantasy points to opposing small forwards on the season.
SF – Kyle Singler ($3,700): Singler is a high risk high reward type of player showing that he has the ability to score over 20 points and even over 30 at times. This move allows you to grab Davis at the power forward position.
PF – Anthony Davis ($11,200): Along with Harden, Davis is the next best fantasy option on the court today. You can consider going cheaper at this position if you want to improve your small forward position.
PF – Marreese Speights ($4,900): The Golden State Warriors power forward has a perfect matchup against the Boston Celtics. The Celtics enter this contest allowing the most fantasy points on the season to opposing power forwards per game.
C – Al Horford ($7,800): Horford has been consistent for most of the 2014-15 season including eight consecutive games played with over 32 fantasy points. In that same stretch, Horford has registered two contests with 39 fantasy points and a 44.2 contest.
