The Atlanta Falcons travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints in what looks to be a prime time fantasy matchup to kick off week 6 of the 2015 NFL season. As we start to look at each of the contests taking place in week 6 the Thursday Night matchup has the second highest over/under line of the week at 51 points while the New England Patriots/Indianapolis Colts Sunday Night Football has the highest at 55 points.
This opens up the options for FanDuel owners looking to build lineups from tonight’s contests as well as the games over the weekend. One of those plays is Matt Ryan going up against a Saints defense that has allowed the third most fantasy points among all defenses according to ESPN’s fantasy points against stats. Now the Falcons defense ranks eighth in fewest points allowed to quarterbacks we still expect Brees to play well on prime time at home.
Along with both quarterbacks a few other options from Thursdays Night contest to consider is Julio Jones, Roddy White, Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead. One solid running back option from tonight is Mark Ingram for the Saints going up against a Falcons defense that has allowed a league high eight rushing touchdowns and a total of ten total touchdowns to the position.
Here is our week 6 NFL FanDuel lineup for Thursday Night Football.
Quarterback – Matt Ryan ($8,100): We love Ryan’s matchup tonight against a Saints defense that has struggled to slow down opposing quarterbacks. Another solid option is Tom Brady versus a Colts defense he scorched in the AFC Championship game last year.
Other top Fantasy Quarterback options for week 6 include Tom Brady, Joe Flacco and Colin Kaepernick.
Running Back – C.J. Anderson ($6,600): Now for season long Fantasy Owners, Anderson has been a big bust after a solid campaign last season. This being daily fantasy look for Anderson to put together a solid game against a Cleveland Browns defense that has struggled to slow down opposing running backs.
Running Back – Eddie Lacy ($7,300): We could have gone with Adrian Peterson as well at this spot as we left some salary cap space on the table. That being said Lacy has a solid fantasy play going up against a San Diego Chargers defense that has allowed 919 total yards and seven touchdowns to opposing running backs this season.
Other top Fantasy Running Back options for week 6 include Adrian Peterson, Arian Foster and Javorius Allen (Fantasy Sleeper).
Wide Receiver – Roddy White ($5,400): While Julio Jones makes the better option we expect the veteran to have a break out game especially if Leonard Hankerson misses the game tonight. White also provides us a solid fantasy play that could be used in a low percentage of fantasy contests this weekend.
Wide Receiver – Torrey Smith ($6,200): We like both Torrey Smith and Steve Smith for this lineup but with the uncertainty of the Ravens receivers health makes him avoid us with lineups being set tonight. The Ravens beat up defense has struggled to stop opposing quarterbacks this season making not only Torrey a great option but Anquan Boldin and Colin Kaepernick.
Wide Receiver – Calvin Johnson ($8,200): We are all waiting to see a Megatron break out and that could come this weekend against division rivals the Chicago Bears. Now as Johnson’s production has been limited much of it has come from the struggles from quarterback Matt Stafford as well as the double coverages.
Other top Fantasy Wide Receiver options for week 6 include Julian Edelman, Brandon Marshall, Kendall Wright, Kamar Aiken, Jordan Matthews and James Jones.
Tight End – Tyler Eifert ($6,000): We tossed and turned over Eifert as well as Rob Gronkowski. If you elect to go with Tom Brady we suggest going with Gronk but with Eifert’s salary number at $6k he makes him a great play coming off last weekends two touchdown effort.
Other top Fantasy Tight End options for week 6 include Rob Gronkowski, Crockett Gilmore (Monitor Injury Status) and Greg Olsen.
Kicker – Stephen Gostkowski ($5,100): We looked at a few of the potential high scoring contests before electing to go with the Patriots kicker. Not only does the Colts/Patriots game look to be high scoring it is also being played inside a dome giving the kickers an advantage.
Other top Fantasy Kicker options for week 6 include Brandon McManus, Matt Bryant and Justin Tucker.
Defense – Denver Broncos ($5,000): The Broncos have been one of the top defenses in the NFL this season and it looks to continue in week 6 in Cleveland. Despite putting up some points on a struggling Baltimore Ravens defense in week 5 look for the Browns offense to struggle.
Other top Fantasy Defense options for week 6 include New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears.
