FanDuel NHL Lineup for Saturday March 21

Fanduel World Hockey Championship

The NHL schedule delivers a 10 game slate for FanDuel owners to cash in on Saturday. This action includes a nice list of matchups including the Washington Capitals taking on the Winnipeg Jets while the Pittsburgh Penguins travel out west to take on the Arizona Coyotes.

These lineups also deliver a great selection of fantasy options including Alexander Ovechkin, John Tavares, Sidney Crosby, Cory Schneider and Rick Nash. The options are endless when you start looking at the stat sheets. Entering Saturday’s contest all five of the top over point scorers are in action as well as sixth player who ranks second in the NHL in goals scored.

Now that we have a starting point we also took at all 20 teams in action to see how they have performed all season. The first place we looked at was how many goals per game each team is allowing entering Friday nights action. When we looked at this list eight teams are in action that rank in the top 10 in most goals allowed per game. Of those eight teams five of them enter Saturday allowing more than three goals per contest.

Here is our NHL FanDuel lineup for Saturday March 21st.

LW – Alexander Ovechkin ($9,600): Ovechkin might be the easiest option for FanDuel owners to use today in action. Entering Saturday, Ovechkin leads the NHL in goals scored (47 total goals) and overall points (73 total points).

LW – Michael Raffl ($4,200): As we moved through our lineup we were looking for a combination of value plays along with a few FanDuel bargains. That landed up to the Philadelphia Flyers left winger who has a great matchup tonight against an Edmonton team allowing the most goals per game in the NHL.

RW – Craig Smith ($6,100): Smith and the Nashville Predators take on a Buffalo Sabres team that has struggled all season long. The Predators right winger has the top fantasy matchup tonight going up against a Sabres team allowing the most fantasy points to the right wing position in the NHL.

RW – Blake Comeau ($4,700): Along with Smith we elected to go a little cheaper at the second right wing position but took advantage of the Pittsburgh Penguins matchup with Arizona tonight. The Coyotes are second in fantasy points allowed to the position only trailing the Sabres for the season.

C – Sidney Crosby ($9,300): This was an easy choice when Evgeni Malkin was ruled out for the teams two game road trip. Crosby has at least four fantasy points in six of his last ten games with at least at least a goal or assist in seven.

C – Marcus Kruger ($3,300): While this might not be the ideal name everyone is looking for here but Kruger has a great matchup against the Dallas Stars tonight and he has found the net over his last ten games. One option is to go with a lower cost center in place of Crosby to free up some salary to upgrade this position.

D – Ryan Ellis ($4,100): You have a few teams you could look at for the defense position as both the Flyers and Predators both have matchups against teams allowing the most fantasy points to the position. We elected to go with Ellis who has at least two fantasy points in four of his last ten contests played.

D – Mike Green ($4,500): When the Capitals are hot we love to go with a few members of the team and looking at Greens value and how he has performed of late he is a perfect option. He has last one fantasy point in five straight contests including fantasy performances of 3.3, 7.7 and 5.2 in that stretch.

G – Pekka Rinne ($8,900): The only concern at the goalie position we have at building a lineup early in the day is whether or not that goalie starts. We believe Rinne will get the start between the pipes and if for some reason he is out go with the goalie that starts for the Predators. The Predators take on a Sabres team that ranks bottom in the NHL in goals scored per game and the only team under two goals per game.
