Alexander Ovechkin goes head to head against Sidney Crosby for FanDuel owners tonight. On a night of limited opportunities for fantasy owners with only a three game lineup these two superstars are perfect options to build your fantasy lineup around.
Along with Ovechkin and Crosby these are just two of the stars you have to work with from the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins. Along with those two teams the other two teams in action tonight are the Calgary Flames who travel to take on the New Jersey Devils while the late game includes the Ottawa Senators traveling to take on the Anaheim Ducks in the late action.
Ovechkin is due for another big performance for fantasy owners after posting back to back games without finding the net. That being said when these two teams met back on the 17th of February, Ovechkin found the net as well as set up a teammate for an assist on a night he finished with an 8.8 fantasy performance.
Along with Ovechkin you can also elect to go with Nicklas Backstrom for the Capitals who is third in the NHL with 64 points scored.
Here is our complete NHL FanDuel Lineup for February 25th.
LW – Alexander Ovechkin ($9,300): The NHL leading goal scorer is a threat on any given night. That being said he has had some success against the Penguins this season in three games scoring three goals, recording one assist and finishing with a positive +/- in those contests.
LW – Michael Cammalleri ($5,300): The New Jersey Devils left winger is on a three game hot streak for his fantasy owners. In that stretch, Cammalleri has recorded four goals, one assist, 13 shots on goal and a 5 in the +/- category.
RW – Jakob Silfverberg ($3,900): Silfverberg has a great matchup against an Ottawa team allowing the 11th most goals on the season. Along with the matchup we also like the salary cost at $3,900 allowing us to go after three expensive commodities tonight.
RW – Alex Chiasson ($3,200): Much like Silfverberg tonight, Chiasson is a FanDuel bargain going up against a Ducks team allowing 2.72 goals on the season. Chiasson is more of a gamble play we are looking for to cash in with in GPP tournaments. He does however have one goal and two assists in his last four games.
C – Ryan Getzlaf ($8,800): The debate was to go with Getzlaf or Crosby tonight but went with Getzlaf based on our use between the pipes. Getzlaf has three straight games with a goal or an assist for the Ducks.
C – Sean Monahon ($3,600): Monahon is another cheap option at the center position with limited options on the board. That being said the Flames center has five games with over two points in his last ten games.
D – Erik Karlsson ($7,000): Karlsson might be on one of the hottest streaks in the NHL. The Senators defenseman has six straight games with a point including a stretch of four games with two assists. Over that stretch he recorded at least 4.7 fantasy points in each contest.
D – John Carlson ($4,500): You could go a few routes with the Capitals defenseman including Mike Green but we elected to go with Carlson. In his last game against the Penguins, Carlson posted a goal while finishing with 5.2 fantasy points.
G – Braden Holtby ($8,600): Holtby has been red hot this season against the Penguins making him the easy choice between the pipes. In three previous contests this season, the Capitals goalie allowed just one goal while recording a .989 save percentage to go with three wins.
