The work week is over as fantasy owners look to cash in on some daily fantasy football action. This includes a chance to take home a top prize of $1 million dollars on FanDuel and a $2 million dollar top prize on DraftKings. This week the lineup of NFL games should be interesting with a few solid fantasy options to build our lineup around.
The first place we wanted to take a look before setting our daily fantasy lineup for FanDuel was to take a look at some of the top Fantasy Sleepers and Fantasy Bargains that might be available this week. While these plays might not be as attractive as a lineup built with Super Stars but it will give you salary cap relief as well as chance to use a player that is used in a lower percentage of lineups.
Here is our list of top Fantasy Football Sleepers & Bargains for week 5 of the NFL Season.
Fantasy Bargain/Sleeper Quarterback:
Alex Smith ($6,900): While Smith might not be as attractive as Aaron Rodgers or even Tom Brady he does have a cap friendly salary cap number. Add in he has posted three solid fantasy performances through the first four weeks and now has a very bad Oakland Raiders defense to face in week 5.
Fantasy Bargain/Sleeper Running Backs:
Chris Thompson ($5,100): The Washington Redskins running back should be a solid fantasy play in week 5 against an Atlanta Falcons defense that has allowed a league high seven rushing touchdowns over the first four weeks.
Andre Williams ($5,400): Williams is coming off a team high 11 carries in week 4 but that doesn’t make daily fantasy owners love him. That being said Williams does get a shot at a San Francisco 49ers defense that is allowing the sixth most fantasy points to the running back position according to ESPN’s Fantasy Points Against statistics
Javorius Allen ($5,000): If you are looking for a deep Fantasy Sleeper the Baltimore Ravens backup could be a solid play in week 5. While fantasy owners are jumping on the Justin Forsett bandwagon we like Allen’s down hill approach against a bad Cleveland Browns defense
Fantasy Bargain/Sleeper Wide Receivers:
Marquess Wilson ($4,800): Wilson has a solid fantasy matchup this week when his Chicago Bears go up against the Kansas City Chiefs. Entering this week’s lineup of games the Chiefs defense was the only team in the NFL to surrender double digit touchdowns to opposing receivers on the season.
Willie Snead ($5,300): Looking this matchup between the New Orleans Saints and the Philadelphia Eagles it looks like it could be a high scoring contest. This means Drew Brees should be throwing the ball around opening up opportunities for Snead. Entering this week Snead has at least four catches in each of his last three games as well as at least 44 yards receiving.
Chris Givens ($4,500): While we wouldn’t typically pick up a player that was just acquired but the lack of talent at the receiver position for the Baltimore Ravens should open up his chances. We expect the Ravens to continue to throw the ball with Joe Flacco so someone needs to catch passes with Steve Smith out of the lineup as well as Michael Campanaro.
