Sammy Watkins enters 2014 as one of the top five rookies to draft for fantasy football. Watkins will be looked to produce from the start to the finish for the Buffalo Bills. The Bills moved up in the 2014 NFL draft, giving up multiple draft picks to land the Clemson star wide receiver. Looking at how he performed with the Tigers the past few seasons, it is simple why the team wanted him.

In three seasons with the Tigers Watkins pulled in 240 passes for 3,391 yards and 27 touchdowns. His best season came last season as Watkins finished with 101 catches for 1,464 yards and 12 touchdowns. Now the Bills will look for his big play ability to help the team succeed in 2014. The only concern with Watkins is taking a big gamble on him to early in fantasy drafts.

1. Sammy Watkins, Buffalo Bills: Watkins averaged over 12.4 yards per reception in each season at college. Now the success doesn’t always translate to the NFL, but Watkins speed and ability to separate makes him one of the top choices to draft within the rookies.

2. Brandin Cooks, New Orleans Saints: The former Oregon State star has the speed to make him a solid threat in the high powered Saints offense. Cooks gets an advantage over most of the rookies playing in an offense that has seen Drew Brees throw for over 5,000 yards multiple times in his career. We expect the Saints to build packages to get the ball in his hands at the line of scrimmage as well as on deeper routes.

3. Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Seferian-Jenkins might have been the best tight end in this draft, but the off the field issues cost him a higher draft pick. The 6’5’’ tight end pulled in 21 touchdowns in three seasons for Washington. Lovie Smith and the offense will look to work him and fellow rookie Mike Evans into the offense as much as possible.

4. Paul Richardson, Seattle Seahawks: The Seahawks drafted Richardson in the second round to help the void in the passing game after the team lost Golden Tate to free agency. Richardson joins a receiving corps that is led by Percy Harvin. In each of his three seasons at Colorado, Richardson averaged over 14.2 yards per catch.

5. Andre Williams, New York Giants: Williams is listed on the depth chart behind both Rashad Jennings and Peyton Hillis, but we don’t expect that to last for too long. In the Giants first preseason game we saw Williams rush seven times for 48 yards with one rushing touchdown.
