Less than a year after throwing his first career no-hitter on September 28th, 2012 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Homer Bailey threw another no-hitter just ten months later tonight against the San Francisco Giants. The right-hander became the third Reds pitcher to throw multiple no-no’s joining Jim Maloney and Johnny Vander Meer. Bailey improves his record this season to 5 wins and 6 losses with the no hitter tonight. Bailey missed the opportunity to throw a perfect game by walking Giants lead-off hitter Gregor Blanco to lead off the seventh inning. However, he did not let the walk get the best of him as he retired the final nine batters he faced to complete the no hitter. 27,509 fans were in attendance to see the 280th no-hitter in Major League Baseball.
