Strategies
The Monday Morning Blues aren’t so bad today as Clayton Kershaw gives us all a chance to smile while we look forward to cashing on on some daily fantasy action. Now that isn’t all the great news as not only do we have Kershaw to build around on the mound but two additional big guns as well.
One of those arms is Madison Bumgarner who will look to lead his San Francisco Giants over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Bumgarner is coming off a 54 point fantasy performance in his last outing while marking it his sixth game of at least 50 over his last ten outings.
The second of those options is Stephen Strasburg who will be on the mound tonight for the Washington Nationals as they face off against Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Strasburg has not been as dominant as Bumgarner or Kershaw but he will save you a few bucks and has been very consistent turning in eight starts of at least 42 fantasy points over his last ten outings.
Than there is Kershaw who is coming off back to back 60 plus fantasy performances. Now for fantasy owners he hasn’t been the lucky one when it comes to weather of late as two of his starts were postponed leading to some to miss out on his fantasy points. That being said Kershaw has not failed to reach 42 points in his last eight starts while reaching 60 in five of those starts.
Now lets take a look at the rest of who we like tonight on FanDuel.
FanDuel Hitters We Like On Monday June 20th, 2016
Mark Trumbo, Baltimore Orioles: There is a few reasons to like the Orioles outfielder tonight as well as a few of his teammates. The first of those reasons is the fact he will be hitting at Glove Life Park in Arlington Tonight (ranks 4th in runs, 9th in home runs and 2nd in doubles according to MLB Park Factors). Second of those reasons is Trumbo is hitting .311 in 45 at bats against Derek Holland with five of his 14 hits going for home runs.
Anthony Rizzo, Chicago Cubs: Looking at the Cubs first baseman makes perfect sense tonight as he costs less than $4k but has been red hot of late. Over his last ten games, Rizzo has posted double digit fantasy numbers in eight of them while five of those contests were for at least 18 fantasy points.
Pitchers We Like On Monday June 20th, 2016
Clayton Kershaw, Los Angeles Dodgers: Now his matchup might be a little more difficult than Bumgarners but we love him tonight based on his success this season. Add in the fact he is almost guaranteed to deliver a double digit strikeout performance each night makes him a must start.
Madison Bumgarner, San Francisco Giants: Typically we like to shoot for on expensive and one bargain. Tonight though we suggest looking at each of these starters to build your fantasy lineup around. Bumgarner will also be hitting in a ball park that ranks last in homeruns according to MLB Park Factors.
Fantasy Sleepers We Like on Monday June 20th, 2016
Jorge De La Rosa, Colorado Rockies: Looking for a cheaper alternative on the mound tonight is a difficult debate as most of the solid options cost around or above $10k. Two names we would consider is De La Rosa as well as Kevin Gausman. The Rockies starter has bounced around this season but has turned in back to back 30 point fantasy performances.
Prince Fielder, Texas Rangers: We were looking for a player who we know has the potential to put together a big game with one swing. Tonight that option is Fielder who will get his chance to produce against Gausman who was horrible in his last outing managing to go just three innings.
The Stack List:
Chris Iannetta, Robinson Cano & Nelson Cruz: We could have even through Seth Smiths name into this stack. Iannetta in his career has hit Mike Pelfrey well picking up seven hits in 15 at bats including two home runs. Other than that the Detroit Tigers starter has shown at times this year he will allow runs allowing at least 4 runs in eight of his 13 starts.
Mark Trumbo, Jonathan Schoop & Adam Jones: For us it is hard to pass up the opportunity to stack the Orioles as they have shown they can produce runs with the best teams in the league. Now the downside is a lefty is on the mound tonight limiting the idea of using someone like Hyun Soo Kim or Ryan Flaherty as a cheap option. You could consider J.J. Hardy as a cheap option at just $2,500.
