Strategies
The FanDuel options are endless tonight as the NBA’s league leader in scoring, assists and rebounds are all on the hardwood tonight. Those NBA league leaders consist of Anthony Davis (30.7 FPG), James Harden (11.7 APG) and Hassan Whiteside (14.7 RPG) all suiting up on the hardwood tonight.
Along with sitting atop the leader board in the NBA all three of them have very favorable matchups tonight. Davis will look to lead his New Orleans Pelicans team against Harden and the Houston Rockets. Davis will get a shot at a Rockets team allowing the third most fantasy points to opposing power forwards tonight while Harden gets a crack a Pelicans team allowing the fourth most to opposing shooting guards.
Then there is Whiteside who will look to continue his recent fantasy success against a Los Angeles Clippers team allowing the third most fantasy points to opposing centers among teams in action tonight. All of these numbers make stacking this trio together an excellent combination. Only downside is this stack would leave us looking for a few solid fantasy sleepers to offset the salary cap hit.
Here are a three NBA Fantasy Sleepers you could consider using tonight to help fill out your FanDuel roster.
Nick Young, Los Angeles Lakers – Shooting Guard
Opponent Philadelphia 76ers – Allowing 2nd most FPG to opposing shooting guards
Isaiah Whitehead, Brooklyn Nets – Point Guard
Opponent Orlando Magic – Allowing most FPG to opposing point guards
Larry Nance Jr, Los Angeles Lakers – Power Forward
Opponent Philadelphia 76ers – Allowing 2nd most FPG to opposing power forwards
Here is our top NBA FanDuel Options for Friday December 16th, 2016
Point Guards – Dennis Schroder & Jrue Holliday
Looking at the fantasy matchups landed us with these two options tonight as our top combination at the position based on potential production versus salary cap number. Schroder gets a shot at a Raptors team allowing the 2nd most fantasy points to the position while Holliday gets a Rockets team ranked 3rd. Along with that both of these point guards sit in the $7k range. Now if you elect to go with our big three combination you will have to look to a fantasy sleeper like Whitehead as a solid option.
Top Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Kyle Lowry
Mid Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Reggie Jackson
Fantasy Sleeper Option We Like: Isaiah Whitehead
Shooting Guards – James Harden & Evan Fournier
In the end there is no way we would suggest looking past Harden tonight against the Pelicans. The Rockets shooting guard has not posted less than 40 fantasy points in a single game tonight that includes going over the 50 point fantasy mark in two of his last three games. Meanwhile Fournier might not be the next biggest name at the position but he is solid fantasy option tonight. The Magic’s shooting guard has posted over 36 fantasy points in each of his last three games.
Top Tier Fantasy Option We Like: James Harden
Mid Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Evan Fournier & Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Fantasy Sleeper Option We Like: Tim Hardaway Jr & Nick Young
Small Forwards – Jimmy Butler & Jae Crowder
In an endless salary cap world we would love to be able to add Butler to the big three list of options tonight. While that won’t work we still like him as a top tier fantasy option tonight to help build your fantasy lineup around. Butler will get a shot a Milwuakee Bucks team that is allowing the third most fantasy points to the position among the teams in action tonight. Crowder meanwhile continues to be a solid option (25 fantasy points in three of his last four games) as he gets a shot at the Charlotte Hornets tonight.
Top Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Jimmy Butler
Mid Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Jae Crowder & Otto Porter
Fantasy Sleeper Option We Like: Bojan Bogdanovic

Power Forwards – Anthony Davis & Julius Randle
Davis is in the same boat as Harden as he is one of those players you nearly almost have to build at least one FanDuel lineup around on nights he takes the floor. Tonight Davis will look to build on his 60 point fantasy performance against a Rockets team that is allowing the third most fantasy points to the position. Meanwhile Randle has an even better matchup against a 76ers team that ranks 2nd in fantasy points allowed to the position. If you are looking for a fantasy sleeper you could consider Larry Nance in place of Randle against the 76ers.
Top Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Anthony Davis
Mid Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Trevor Booker & Julius Randle
Fantasy Sleeper Option We Like: Larry Nance Jr
Center Option – Hassan Whiteside
The center position tonight is one of those slots where we could go a few different directions. At the top of those options is Whiteside who leads the NBA in rebounds per game. Tonight he will look to continue that success for his fantasy owners against a Los Angeles Clippers team that ranks third among teams in action tonight in fantasy points allowed to opposing centers. Other options we like is Brook Lopez (Magic 1st in FPG allowed to centers) and Timofey Mozgov.
Top Tier Fantasy Option We Like: DeMarcus Cousins
Mid Tier Fantasy Option We Like: Brook Lopez & Marcin Gortat
Fantasy Sleeper Option We Like: Timofey Mozgov & Bismack Biyombo
