Strategies
The return of Daily Fantasy Basketball has arrived as the 2016-17 NBA Season tips off tonight with a three game slate. While the action is limited tonight the fantasy opportunities are endless with a few of the games top fantasy stars taking to the hardwood.
This includes the reigning Two Time NBA MVP Stephen Curry as he looks to lead his Golden State Warriors past the San Antonio Spurs in the late cap contest. Meanwhile to get the action started at 7:30pm ET LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers will hoist their NBA Championship Banner at home against the New York Knicks.
The third game of the three game slate gets underway at 10pm ET as the Utah Jazz head to Portland to take on the Trailblazers. All three of these games look to be high scoring contests with the big question is which Fantasy Sleeper or Fantasy Bargain will reward us on FanDuel or DraftKings tonight?
Now before we get to who we like tonight lets take a look at a few of those Bargains as we can all build a lineup with the top Fantasy options available. One of the positions you can find some value is at the shooting guard position where the option costs just $6,900.
One of those fantasy sleepers to consider is Courtney Lee for the Knicks who supplies a chance to score but also only costs $3,900. While it is only preseason, Lee was efficient in his last game against the Brooklyn Nets shooting 7 for 8 from the field with one three point.
The other position to consider going cheap at is the power forward position where someone like David West, Channing Frye and Ed Davis could turn in a solid performance All three of those options cost under the $4k mark.
Here is who we like tonight to build our NBA FanDuel Lineup around.
PG – Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors: We tossed and turned on the idea of using Curry tonight as we aren’t 100% sure who will lose their scoring opportunities with Kevin Durant in the lineup. In the end how can you pass up the reigning MVP?
PG – Damian Lillard, Portland Trailblazers: In the end we went with Lillard over Kyrie Irving tonight. While we like both plays we went with Lillard as he will be the key to the Trailblazers success this season while Irving has LeBron James and Kevin Love on the roster as well.
SG – Courtney Lee, New York Knicks: The price point in Klay Thompson is solid but the question marks with the Warriors offense and who might be the scorer now limits him to open the season. That being said Lee is a viable option off the bench for the Knicks while providing us salary cap space.
SG – Rodney Hook, Utah Jazz: The injury bug has hit the Utah Jazz early as Derrick Favors is a game time decision and Alec Burks is out. While the Jazz added a few new pieces will still like Hood as one of the top scoring options for the Jazz this season.
SF – LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers: James has waited since the day he was drafted by the Cavaliers to deliver a Championship to his home town team. That day has arrived as the team will hoist the trophy tonight driving some excitement in the arena for James to feed off of.
SF – Kyle Anderson, San Antonio Spurs: Now we also love Kawhi Leonard tonight at the small forward position as he will be the starter. That being said Anderson has a true shot at starting at the shooting guard position giving him some real value as a sleeper play tonight. Monitor the lineups going forward as you could go with Tristan Thompson at center to free up cap space to make a move out of Anderson.
PF – David West, Golden State Warriors: You can’t pass up West or any of the Warriors big men as they should have a ton of rebounding opportunities in front of them with three scorers who like to shoot from the outside. For us West is a solid FanDuel Bargain to provide us some production while freeing up additional salary.
PF – Kevin Love, Golden State Warriors: The pressure is now off of Love, Irving and James to deliver an NBA Championship to Cleveland. Now Love can get back to the scoring power forward he was prior to arriving in Cleveland while giving his fantasy owners some big time production.
C – Pau Gasol, San Antonio Spurs: Look for the Spurs big men to carry the load tonight as they still have no top tier young point guard or shooting guard to carry the load. While Tony Parker is a solid option tonight at point guard since it is game one he is also an aging veteran. Now if you need fantasy cap space you could go with Tristan Thompson here or even JaVale McGee as a deep fantasy sleeper.
