Strategies
The NBA playoffs are heating up giving daily fantasy owners something to think about tonight. While the NBA playoffs are a difficult situation on a night to night basis based on the lack of options available. That being said tonight’s lineup of playoff game features a three game slate to build our FanDuel lineups around tonight.
The first of those games tip off at 7pm ET as the Charlotte Hornets travel down to South Beach to take on the Miami Heat. The second contest of the night features the Detroit Pistons traveling to Cleveland to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers while the Portland Trailblazers head to Los Angeles to take on the Clippers at 10:30pm ET.

For us the first place we have elected to take a look is at what the handicappers in Las Vegas thinks of each of these contests. The first of the contest that stands out from the Vegas numbers is the Clippers/Trailblazers matchup that currently holds the highest over/under line at 209 points. The other two lines have the Pistons/Cavaliers at 201 followed by the Hornets/Heat at 199.
This leads us to building our FanDuel lineup around the Clippers point guard Chris Paul. Paul had a phenomal game 1 as he finished with 28 points, six rebounds and 11 assists while finishing with 53.7 fantasy points.
Here is our NBA FanDuel lineup for Wednesday April 20th, 2016.
PG – Chris Paul ($9,800): Paul is an easy decision option tonight at the point guard position. Over his last three games on the court Paul has posted double figures in assists in each of those games making him a true fantasy threat.
PG – Reggie Jackson ($6,600): We strongly considered going with Kemba Walker but elected to save a few dollars to spend on some of the other positions. In the end Jackson has the upside of any of the point guards on the floor tonight.
SG – Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($5,400): The Pistons shooting guard is an interesting option tonight as he has shown at times during the regular season he can be a solid fantasy contributor. Outside of Caldwell-Pope the top two options include Dwyane Wade and C.J. McCollum.
SG – Gerald Henderson ($3,700): Henderson presents us with a solid option with a cheap bargain salary. Henderson scored 16 points to go with two rebounds and three assists in game 1. The Trailblazers will need another player to step up if they want a shot at defeating the Clippers tonight.
SF – LeBron James ($10,500): In the end we could not pass up putting James into the middle of our FanDuel Lineup tonight. James is riding back to back games with at least 52 fantasy points including during game 1 of the playoffs. We expect James to do everything in his power to ensure the Cavaliers push their lead in the series.
SF – Joe Johnson ($4,900): We could all really go for a vintage Joe Johnson moment tonight where he posts 20 points and posts a big time fantasy performance. In the end, Johnson has delivered at least 20 fantasy points in five of his last seven games.
PF – Ed Davis ($3,900): Looking for a Fantasy Sleeper landed us with the Trailblazers power forward. Davis despite his ups and downs over his last ten games he does present a true threat posting three games with at least 20 fantasy points over his last six contests.
PF – Kevin Love ($7,300): The playoffs have arrived opening the door for stars to step up. That is exactly what happened in game 1 as Love posted 28 points and 13 rebounds while finishing with 45.1 fantasy points.
C – Andre Drummond ($7,800): Now we landed with Drummond but we could have easily have gone with DeAndre Jordan as well. A move to Jordan would require us to go with someone like Tobias Harris at the power forward position in place of Kevin Love.
