NHL FanDuel Lineup for Saturday February 13th, 2016

Fanduel NHL 650x80 22-12-2015

The iconic career of Alexander Ovechkin continues to roll on after his latest hat trick in Minnesota. Along with his career accomplishment list growing by the day he continues to be one of the top fantasy options night in and night out on FanDuel. That was the case on Thursday Night when Ovechkin recorded three goals in route to a 14.5 point fantasy night.

Those three goals not only put the Washington Capitals star back on top of the NHL lead for goals scored but also helped deliver some big time payouts as well on FanDuel. Over his last eight games, Ovechkin has at least one goal in six of those games while recording at least 3.9 fantasy points in seven of those contests.

The options don’t end their on Saturday Night as we have an eight game slate taking to the ice to build our lineup around. Those options include the NHL point leader Patrick Kane as well as Jamie Benn. Benn enters this game tied for second in the NHL with 62 points and third with 28 goals scored.

While all three of those are great options at the skill positions we still need to find a great option between the pipes. The first one that stands out is Corey Crawford for the Chicago Blackhawks as they welcome the Anaheim Ducks to town. The same Ducks team that is averaging just 2.26 goals per contests only trailing the New Jersey Devils for fewest goals scored per game.

Here is our NHL FanDuel lineup for Saturday February 13th, 2016.

LW – Alexander Ovechkin ($10,100): The Capitals star is the easiest fantasy option on Saturday Night for any fantasy owner. Along with Ovechkin we also like the Capitals right winger T.J. Oshie and defenseman Karl Alzner.

LW – Mike Hoffman ($5,900): Looking at the top fantasy matchups at the left winger position landed us with Hoffman. Hoffman will lead his Ottawa Senators against a Columbus Blue Jackets team that is allowing the third most fantasy points to opposing left wingers this season.

RW – Drew Stafford ($4,800): Looking for cheap alternatives at the right winger position landed us with Stafford. Stafford despite some struggles over the past few weeks, he has shown the ability to reward his fantasy followers with a 13.9 reward.

RW – Teddy Purcell ($4,200): Stafford isn’t the only player from the Winnipeg Jets/Edmonton Oilers matchup. The Jets trail only the Oilers in fantasy points allowed to opposing right wingers this season.

C – Joe Thornton ($6,200): Sticking with the top fantasy matchups landed us with the San Jose Sharks center. Thornton gets a shot at an Arizona Coyotes team that is allowing the third most goals per game this season and the most fantasy points to opposing centers.

C – Bryan Little ($5,500): Little is currently riding a semi hot streak posting back to back games with over four fantasy points. Since we were working around a tight budget we had to find someone who we expect to see the ice for around 20 minutes and could provide us with some solid production.

D – Karl Alzner ($3,800): After electing to go with Ovechkin we needed a cheap alternative to free up some salary cap. That is when we elected to go with Ovechkins teammate Alzner against the Dallas Stars. Alzner has at least two fantasy points in five of the teams last eight games.

D – Dion Phaneuf ($4,700): As we debated going with another expensive option but we elected to go cheap with both our defenseman. Phaneuf has posted at least three fantasy points in five of his last ten games leading up to his matchup

G – Corey Crawford ($9,800): For us we could have gone with either Crawford or Holtby In the end Crawford has the better matchup and will also save us a few dollars to put towards other positions.
