DeMarcus Cousins, Derrick Rose look to carry the load for fantasy owners on Fanduel tonight. Cousins who is coming off another big performance on Sunday posted a season high 57.2 fantasy points. The Sacramento Kings center has played well over his last four games posting totals of 43.7, 56.8, 42.6 and 57.2 fantasy points.
Cousins and the Kings head out east to take on a Brooklyn Nets team that has struggled to slow down opposing centers over their last five games. Opposing centers had averaged 41.5 fantasy points but over the last five games the numbers have jumped up to 48.2 per game. Much of the damage came when Brook Lopez missed seven straight games. Even with his return Lopez has seen his time limited coming off the bench.
Rose will lead his Bulls into Indiana to take on the Pacers in an Eastern Conference showdown. Despite his low 17.7 fantasy game on Saturday, Rose has a great shot to put up some fantasy points tonight. The Pacers enter this game allowing 41.8 fantasy points to opposing point guards on the season.
Overall the lineup is constructed on a few stacks built around fantasy points allowed for the season.
Here is our suggested Fanduel lineup for December 29th.
Point Guard – Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls ($7,000): Rose has a great matchup against one of five teams tonight that is allowing over 40 fantasy points a game to the point guard position. Add in the fact that the team is the Indiana Pacers we expect Rose to have a big game.
Point Guard – Jarrett Jack, Brooklyn Nets ($5,600): The Nets point guard has been playing well of late scoring over 30 fantasy points in three of his last four games including a 46.9 point game the day after Christmas. Tonight the Nets take on a Sacramento Kings team that has allowed over 40 fantasy points a game to opposing point guards over their last five games.
Shooting Guard – Joe Johnson, Brooklyn Nets ($6,600): Johnson has put together a solid ten game stretch for fantasy owners including six games with over 30 fantasy points. Tonight the Nets host a Kings team that is the only team in play tonight allowing over 40 fantasy points to the shooting guard position.
Shooting Guard – Jimmy Butler, Chicago Bulls ($9,300): The Bulls shooting guard continues to develop into one of the tops in the NBA. Butler posted 33 points, five rebounds, two assists, one blocked shot and two steals on Saturday against New Orleans.
Small Forward – Gordon Hayward, Utah Jazz ($7,700): Hayward might have the best matchup of all the small forwards tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers defense is allowing 35.8 fantasy points per game more than any other team in action tonight against the position.
Small Forward – Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Charlotte Hornets ($5,000): The Hornets small forward has all the potential in the world but fails to deliver consistently night in and night out. Tonight we like the matchup against a Milwaukee Bucks team allowing 44.1 fantasy points to opposing small forwards over their last five games.
Power Forward – Marvin Williams, Charlotte Hornets ($3,900): This play is more about building around the other players on the team giving you a cheap alternative. Williams should have a chance to produce against a Bucks team allowing 40.2 fantasy points to the power forward position this season.
Power Forward – Channing Frye, Orlando Magic ($4,200): We elected to go cheap at the power forward position for both slots. That being said Frye has the ability to score over 20 fantasy points any giving night for his fantasy owners.
Center – DeMarcus Cousins, Sacramento Kings ($10,700): The debate could be made for a few of the centers on the list tonight but we decided to go with Cousins. Tonight he gets a shot at a Los Angeles Clippers team allowing 44.1 fantasy points to opposing centers.
